Cost of living

Cost of living is Singapore is considered one of the lower ones as compared to the other cosmopolitan cities.  Food is cheap and transport by bus, train or taxis is also not expensive.  Housing and rentals have gone up in 2007 but it will probably stabilize in 2008.

Housing
While prices have risen in recent years, housing in Singapore is good value and you get more space for your money compared to Hong Kong.  Living in the centre of the city, such as near Orchard Road, is still relatively affordable for those in the higher income bracket and areas such as around Bukit Timah Road are also desirable.
