Our overseas clients are surprised at the cost of legal services in Hong Kong and the cost of hiring a top quality lawyer here is certainly no less than in London or New York. International law firms in Hong Kong pay for locally–hired lawyers at a rate that is comparable to London firms. Most of the US law firms benchmark against the Wall Street firm salaries however, in addition, they pay housing or cost of living allowances and some continue to tax-equalize.
