Our history

Hughes-Castell Ltd was the first legal recruitment consultancy to target Asia and began recruiting lawyers from London to Hong Kong in 1985, with the Hong Kong office opening in 1986. Servicing both major local and international law firms and multinational corporations and banks, the firm rapidly expanded its geographic scope and began servicing the Singapore market in1993. We opened our branch office there in 2001.

Our China practice has seen record growth, and to build on our extensive client relationships, we opened our consultancy office in Beijing in 2005. Over the years, we have maintained our status as Asia’s premier legal recruiter, providing in-depth coverage of the Asia-Pacific region.

Hughes-Castell has pioneered legal recruitment not only in Hong Kong, but also in Singapore, the PRC, Japan, Thailand and India. We have also undertaken assignments in Korea, Vietnam, Malaysia and the Middle East.
