Within China there is so much to see that you can spend all your vacations exploring this country. You can take the train from Beijing to Tibet, oxygen tank included! The Three Gorges, still worth seeing, Guilin where the landscape is like three-dimensional poetry, or the Silk Road from Xi’an to Urumqi and traverse the same routes that the caravansary took hundreds of years ago. China has a good network of airlines, trains, boats and buses, though not all may meet Western expectations of travel.
